Job Description
Reporting to a Vice President, the Strategic Account Manager will work with a Vice President to develop, manage and implement marketing programs, while ensuring that the clients' strategic objectives are met. Key responsibilities include client management, program management, administrative supervision, business development and Tenthwave organizational development.
Client Management
- Serve as primary day to day contact for the client
- Attend client meetings
- Write call reports
- Stay current with clients' business and industry trends
Program Management
- Oversee all programs elements to make sure we deliver an exceptional product and/or service
- Assist Vice President in development of proposals when necessary
- Develop and monitor master timelines
- Oversee production schedules
- Legal
- Write promotion program rules and send to appropriate staff for review and approval
- Review promotional materials where appropriate
- Manage legal reviews both internal and external
- Keep abreast of changing legal environment
- Creative
- Develop creative briefs
- Work with art directors and copywriters
- Traffic creative elements
- Present creative to client and act as single point of contact
- Technical
- Develop technical briefs and flowcharts
- Manage technical engineers
- Traffic technical elements
- Present technical solution to client and act as single point of contact
- Other Resources
- Develop brief
- Manage resource team
- Traffic resource elements
- Present resource solution to client and act as single point of contact
- Recaps and Measurement
- Work with technical team to create a reporting model that will capture the desired metrics
- Create and document program recaps, measurements and lessons learned
- Create Tenthwave "Powered By" page for each promotion
Administrative Supervision
- Create and manage client folders to archive all relevant materials including but not limited to: proposals, contracts, rules, timelines, creative, technical, etc.
- Manage budget and ensure correct billing and payments
- Supervise Associate Account Executive to ensure flawless execution of administrative tasks including but not limited to: registration, bonding, winner selection, winner notification, winner fulfillment, customer service inquiries and Tenthwave “Powered By” page.
Business Development
- Immerse yourself in the clients’ business
- Listen for opportunities for new or repeat business to grow business within the existing client base or with new clients
- Network to develop new business leads
- Support new business initiatives
- Stay current with trends in the promotion marketing industry and with competitive activities
Tenthwave Organizational Development
- Organization Management
- Keep current on: timesheets, status reports and expense reports
- Become a functional expert: identify a business area to focus on and gain a deeper knowledge of that specialty (legal, prizing, technical, social media etc.)
- Identify improvement areas in processes and procedures to improve service levels and company profitability
- Organization Growth
- Assist management team in keeping the industry, clients and potential clients informed about Tenthwave
- Maintain an active networking schedule to keep Tenthwave top of mind
Qualifications/Experience/Skills Required:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience on the agency or client side with direct hands on experience managing marketing programs.
- Must be self-motivated, articulate and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
- Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with clients and vendors.
- Ability to manage internal and external staff, manage timelines, milestones and communicate effectively and drive to effective issue resolution.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Solid understanding of the promotional marketing discipline a plus.
- Flexible, results-oriented team player.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and related business experience.
- Fully accountable for all responsibilities of the job.
- Work hours as needed.
